Activist and political leader, Aisha Yesufu, has called on her supporters, known as the ‘Supporters of Aisha Yesufu’ (SAY Nation), to rally behind the presidential candidates of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, ADC, in the upcoming 2027 election, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Yesufu gave the charge in Abuja on Wednesday at the end of a strategic outreach to the Bwari, AMAC, Kuje, Kwali, Abaji and Gwagwalada area councils of the FCT.

Yesufu, who showed interest in the NDC FCT senatorial seat, during the outreach met with party members, stakeholders and supporters to appreciate them for their support and commitment to her political goal.

The activist said the engagement was part of her continuous consultations across the FCT, following recent developments in the party that denied her the chance to take part in the battle for the FCT Senatorial District ticket.

During the outreach, Yesufu appreciated the loyalty, sacrifices and commitment displayed by party executives, stakeholders and supporters during her political path.

She also acknowledged the anger and dissatisfaction of her followers with the results of the NDC internal processes but urged them “not to lose faith in the collective struggle for a better Nigeria”.

“The outreach was designed not only to thank supporters for their steadfast commitment, but also to inspire them to keep their eyes on the larger national goal of ensuring a prosperous and inclusive future for Nigerians,” she said.

He urged people across the FCT to concentrate their energies into building stronger grassroots mobilisation and preserving the momentum for political change.

“The search for good governance supersedes individual political ambition,” she said.

Yesufu urged members of ‘SAY Nation’ and other supporters of the ADC to “stay united, strong and committed to the larger vision of delivering transformative leadership for Nigeria, particularly in support of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso”.

She expressed optimism that Nigeria’s future is still bright.

“Collective action, perseverance and faith would, in the end, pave the way for the emergence of a better nation,” she added.

She told supporters: “Don’t worry, Nigeria will be OK.”

Supporters also used the outreach to show sympathy with Yesufu and re-affirmed their devotion to the principles of the political movement. They said the participation was reassuring and revived hope despite political losses in recent months.
