Wasiu Sadare, the APC’s publicity secretary, made the request in a statement released on Wednesday.

In a joint statement, the party and the state’s governor, Seyi Makinde, called on Makinde to work with law enforcement and other interested parties to end the recent wave of violence in the state.

There needs to be long-term action to resolve these issues, and the APC is calling on all levels of government to do just that.

“We utilise this medium to implore the appropriate federal, state, and local authorities to examine the security architecture of Oyo state in order to secure the lives and property of all its citizens, irrespective of their socioeconomic status, and to tighten up any loose ends that may exist,” the statement read.

The current situation in Oyo state is unbearable, and no citizen should have to live in constant fear and anxiety. We are urging Governor Makinde to step down from his high horse and get help when he needs it to stop the situation from getting worse. Nobody in the state is safe right now, and it’s never been worse.

Sen. Sharafadeen Alli, an APC contender for governor in the upcoming 2027 election, has spoken out against the kidnapping of teachers and students in Oyo State.

The head of the APC party voiced his grave worry about the school attacks in a statement released on Wednesday.

It has been brought to light once again by this occurrence that the state really needs a more robust security architecture, he said.

He made the most of the situation to urge the public to be on high alert and to provide reliable information that can aid in the continuing rescue efforts to the appropriate authorities.
